I'm sure Jame Frey and his publishers would appreciate a lesson on authenticity about now. I would hate to be him tonight! It's time he move far, far away where no Oprah fan exisits.....is there such a place???

and yet anything that i COULD be writing will most likely have already been thought of and written by somebody else. thus diminishing the creativity and authenticity of my own ideas. i thought of them, but someone else thought of them first. so are they really mine and is there really true creativity?

oh! a very good book i'd recommend: house of sand and fog. kind of reminds me of our discussion about how japanese-americans were alienated during ww2 (story is about a clash between an immigrant family and a white woman)
