longing for love...d ones
stephen come home to me now. i miss you! in your absence, i've been spending a lot of time with r clark. i hope you don't mind. but it's time we were together again. forget miss i'll-give-you-my-number-but-not-my-name-anonymous-girl and come home to me. in the meantime, i'll will be waiting with r clark...
ps. for those that don't know, road tripped to dc last weekend and had a good time, including the sunday morning stroll through arlington cemetery and posing in front of jfk's memorial site with dc proper in the back.
pss. favorite dc-related song: hands down, it's gotta be "the district sleeps alone tonight." name the band and you win my love and respect and maybe even a monetary reward of sorts.

Peter + Stephen. you guys are such a cute couple! Is this your engagement picture?
Peter, glad to hear you spent some time in the great district of columbia. You are really taking advantage of east coast living. Its all about weekend trips on that side of the country.
Let's catch up soon. Its been forever.

i have to agree it has been awhile. are you engaged yet?? ps. the picture is r clark, not stevey. i posted it of us to incite motivational jealousy to bring stephen home from his vacation home to utah.
and despite image given off by the picture, this dc trip was not as dupont as the dc trip last october...

aimee: i was starting to think that you were no longer alive. why so long and no web log comments? why don't you ever visit the dominion? come on over to my web log and i'll show you dupont...i mean i'll show you a good time.

23/2/06 6:53 PM
petey: where are my props? am i dead to you now?
23/2/06 7:25 PM
I have no idea what the offical definition of dupont is but I'm taking my guesses. Is it some inside word with you NYC boys?
No reason for not commenting. I guess I didn't feel like I had anything especially important to say in the last blogs. (Not that this is especially important). I still read though.
I'll check out the dominion. I've been there before to check out your pictures and stuff. I like your titles acutally. Real creative.
Not engaged yet. Eternity is a real long time so we are just enjoying the unique pleasures/indulgences that the single life can only give you.

interesting article. didn't change my opinion or enlighten my views though.
25/2/06 1:49 PM
i'll try again some other time...
25/2/06 4:43 PM
paul: i read the article. these are some of the things i struggle about with walmart. #1 the union of which i'm a part is against walmart. that makes me want to be for walmart. the uft (united federation of teachers) claims it hurts employees. this may be true. but, the workers choose to work at the store, right? if they don't like it why don't they go somewhere else. even then, i wonder how much they are doing for the community. #2 the problem with walmart (as i formerly saw it) is the way they destroy the old-style mom and pop stores. its not the fact that they are destroying these type of jobs (the article is clear that walmart, in fact, creates jobs). Rather, it is the idea that walmart is destroying the feel of rural americana--turning it into corporate-manipulated amalgamation of everything arizona is (and, consequently, everything i despise). #3 i would go on but petey gets angry when people post long comments. he should just be happy people are posting at all. (one last thing, in spite of petey's 'rules': does walmart exploit factory workers in order to bring us the savings? i don't really care about that part when it comes down to it. i still go to walmart to save money on personal hygiene supplies (much to petey's chagrin). have you noticed that on this comment i have used many ellipses? that's all.
25/2/06 6:30 PM
i was re-reading my comment. does this make sense : "these are some of the things i struggle about with walmart"? is it possible to struggle about something? oh well.
25/2/06 6:31 PM
stevey_
lost posts are fine if you
a) use lots of elispes to break up my thought stream and
2) use words like amalgamation (almost dental vernacular) to make me pause to look it up on my widgets to make sure i understand the word. and
3) make confessions. (albeit, admissions to selling your soul for 120 cents on deordorant savings)
26/2/06 8:45 AM
petey: did you say "lost" posts? why don't you read your comments before you post them? i think you meant "long" comments. either way, according to your requirements for long or lost posts, i qualify. boo yes.
26/2/06 2:48 PM
thank you for your long comments stevie. it is interesting that wal-mart has been around for as long as they have (longer than most of us who are posting have been alive).
Waiting for Guffman made a reference to wal-mart. Talk about small town americana.
i too make little of people's complaints that walmart employee's in third world countries make less money. as long as what they are making is in line with fair market wages of other in-country natives and the working hours and conditions are humane i say put them to work and bring us our deodorant for less. you could make the argument that you are helping these poorer countries by bolstering their economy and reducing the unemployment rates.
sorry about the long comment. i guess it could be argued that some discussions require longer comments for a substantive discussion. so petey, the question becomes will this be a blog of substance?
26/2/06 4:42 PM
paul: if walmart has the possibility of making life better for natives of 3rd world countries, are they ethically obliged to? the question also arises, are the natives treated to humane working conditions? but really, if i can save 120 cents on my deodorant, why am i even asking questions?
petey: will this be a web log of substance? will you expend your energy to provoke debate and substantial comments? who knows, maybe you can break 50 comments one day....
